The Impact of Not Using Pre-Correcting

The Impact of Not Using
Pre-Correcting
Step 1: The corridors will be more crowded than usual because all the Upper Year classes will have a sports day. Teacher Trisha decides this is a small change so she shouldn’t need to implement any interventions.
Step 2: In the hallway, Trisha’s students were not prepared for the change. They were unsure where and how to stand. They were touching students from the other classes and were forgetting to use walking feet.
Step 3. Trisha needed to bring her students back to class to run through the expectations with them. Later in the day, Trisha also needed to communicate with the parents of one of her students who pushed a child from another class causing him to hit the wall.
Step 4: Unfortunately, Trisha’s class is late to the special event and misses out on some of the fun activities that happened at the beginning. She realises that even a small change needs to be addressed with students beforehand to avoid unnecessary problems.
