Supporting Effective Teaching as

a School Leader

Leaders collaborate with the teaching team to embed a culture of effective teaching to maximise
student educational outcomes.

Great school leaders successfully lead teaching in their school from the front. As instructional leaders, they place their highest priority on supporting effective teaching.

The principal ensures consistency in delivering effective teaching practices in all classrooms and relentlessly models a team approach to resolve issues that impede student success.

The instruction coach supports the principal through conducting observations to ensure effective teaching is taking place in all classrooms. The coach acts as a collegial partner with the teacher by helping them drive the success of teaching and learning in their classroom.
