Professional Learning

The coaching provided is directly linked to student mastery and professional learning data. The instruction coach analyses the data, identifies problems, observes lessons and coaches teachers based on their individual professional learning needs.  

The instruction coach develops a plan to provide coaching to all teachers. The frequency of coaching sessions depends upon the current stage and skill level of the teacher.  

Coaching includes: 

  • demonstrating effective teaching 
  • holding weekly lesson practice 
  • scheduling observations of peer lessons 
  • holding learning and data conversations.
