The Behaviour Management Team

Using Continuous Improvement

The BMT uses continuous improvement to address student behaviour and behaviour management practices school-wide.

In their weekly meetings, the BMT identifies behavioural issues that are impeding school safety and lesson progress or mastery and resolves those issues by creating action plans and monitoring their progress.

Supporting the School-Wide Behaviour Model

The BMT also monitors the implementation of the schoolwide behaviour model, monitors its effectiveness, and aids in the planning of targeted professional development and continuity as new staff join the school.

BMT members should include:

• the principal and coach

• teachers

• parents and other community members.

Team members should represent the following skillsets:

• behavioural expertise

• coaching expertise

• SEL expertise

• equitable practices

• cultural knowledge

• physical health and wellness

• knowledge of student academic and behavioural patterns

• knowledge of school operations across grade levels and programs.
