Connecting Math Concepts A Overview

Students learn to make connections between related topics in mathematics and between procedures and knowledge. CMC introduces concepts systematically, then weaves them together throughout the program. Once a concept is introduced, it is practised across the program. Teachers follow the program sequentially to allow students to build their skills and knowledge.

CMC A covers these mathematical tracks:

  • Counting
  • Symbol Identification
  • Numbers and Counters
  • Equality and Equations
  • Place Value
  • Plus (Addition)
  • Take Away (Subtraction)
  • Word Problems
  • Money
  • Shapes and 3-D Objects
  • Relative Position and Size
  • Grouping/Ordering/Patterns
