Comprehension B1 analogies

The analogies track begins in lesson 13 and continues through lesson 59. It uses three different formats.

The progression is:

  • The first format (lesson 13) teaches students to complete an analogy: a bird is to flying, as a fish is to (swimming).
  • The second format (lesson 23) teaches students to create analogies that follow a specific rule: Tell how each animal moves. A bird is to (flying), as a fish is to (swimming).
  • The third format (lesson 41) teaches students to describe what a specific analogy tells: A bird is to flying, as a fish is to swimming. What does that analogy tell? (How each animal moves).
