Voiced and unvoiced
Voiced sounds are sounds made by vibrating vocal cords. Unvoiced sounds are made without the vocal cords vibrating.
The unvoiced sounds are c, ch, f, h, k, p,s, sh, t and x.
Press your fingers to your throat lightly and say the sound f. Without pausing, say v. Feel the vocal cords vibrate. The lip, teeth and tongue placement for both sounds. The only difference is that f is unvoiced and v is voiced..
