Defining Effective Teaching

Effective teaching combines explicit pedagogy with a curriculum designed to increase the learning rate and mastery of all students.

Between any great teacher and their student is effective teaching. It begins with the premise that students can learn, and the teacher is responsible for ensuring they are learning.

The cycle of teaching and learning occurs in every classroom lesson every day. The defining feature of each lesson is the provision of effective teaching to every child.
