The Continuous Improvement Framework

The Continuous Improvement Framework integrates leadership, professional development and collaborative efforts to elevate the teaching and learning experience.

The school domain is the leadership and culture space where the instruction coach works alongside the principal, leadership team and teaching team to share the responsibility for the teaching and learning of all the school’s students. Leadership is demonstrated across the school community. Leaders collaborate with the teaching team to embed a culture of continuously improving teaching and learning to maximise student educational outcomes.

The school domain has four key areas that the principal and leadership team focus on:

  • Professional learning – Leaders support their teaching team to complete regular professional learning and develop their own leadership repertoire and practice.
  • Data-driven improvement – Leaders routinely observe teaching, review data, lead Weekly Data Reviews and make instructional decisions that improve teaching and learning.
  • Peer collegiality – Leaders foster and participate in professional conversations among the teaching team about improving teaching and learning.
  • Community engagement – Leaders foster continuous conversations between the school and community and partner on practical ways to support every student to reach their full potential.

Paired cycles enable the leaders and teaching team to collaborate and synchronise their effective teaching effort.
