Scenario: Cultivating a Community of High Expectations

Scenario: Cultivating a Community of High Expectations

Step 1:

Principal, Frankie, identifies a need to strengthen the connection between the school and the community to enhance the positive high expectations culture. She notices that some parents are not fully engaged, and there is a lack of clarity about the school’s role in supporting their children’s educational goals.

Step 2:

To improve this, Frankie develops the Community Compact, outlining the mutual commitment between the school and parents. The compact clearly articulates the community’s aspirations for their children and the school’s responsibilities in providing the best educational opportunities. She organises family engagement events to engage parents actively in the school’s mission.

Step 4:

Recognising the success of this approach, Frankie continues to strengthen the connection between the school and parents. She implements ongoing strategies to involve parents in supporting educational goals and cultivating community leadership. As a result, the positive high expectations culture not only thrives within the school but also permeates the community, contributing to improved student and school outcomes. The continuous improvement cycle is evident as Frankie adapts strategies based on feedback and evolving community needs.

Step 3:

During these events, Frankie observes increased parent participation and commitment. The Community Compact becomes a living document, with parents actively contributing their perspectives. The engagement metrics show a positive shift, indicating improved collaboration between the school and the community.
