Auditory Signal

Use an auditory signal when students are focused on worksheets or matching cards.

For example:

  • Focus: ‘Look at my card. When I tap, hold up the card that looks just like my card.’
  • Think time: Pause for about two seconds.
  • Cue: ‘Get ready.’
  • Interval: Pause for one second.
  • Signal: Give an audible signal. The signal is any kind of ‘ap’: a snap, a clap, or a tap.

Here is an example exercise that uses an auditory signal to teaching Matching Cards.
