Placement Testing

Students are placement tested before beginning instruction to determine the appropriate starting level.

The process is:

  • Test each student individually. Test directions are in Distar Arithmetic 1 Teacher’s Guide (page seven).
  • Record how many objects each student touched and counted correctly.

  • Students are placed in the program according to placement test results at lesson thirty-one, sixteen or one.
  • Estimate one to two minutes to test each student.
