Scenario – Professional Growth and Review Routines

Step 1: Principal, Isla, conducts an assessment of her teaching staff’s professional learning needs at the beginning of the school year. She identifies varying levels of expertise among teachers and establishes clear professional learning targets tailored to each educator’s requirements. 

Step 2: Isla implements targeted professional learning modules and coaching sessions throughout the term to bridge gaps in knowledge and skills. She ensures that teachers have access to resources and support needed for effective program delivery, focusing on areas identified during the needs assessment. 

Step 4: At the termly reviews, Isla and her leadership team analyse data collected over the ten-week period to identify trends, successes and areas for improvement across the school. They collaboratively set targeted improvements and align strategies to enhance teaching quality and student outcomes. 

Step 3: Isla schedules weekly reviews with instruction coaches to closely monitor progress against professional learning targets. During these sessions, teachers reflect on their experiences, share challenges faced and receive guidance on refining their teaching practices for improved program delivery.
