Closing the Lesson

The final part of a lesson should be brief and to the point. It may consist of a short review of what was learned during the lesson and a quick preview of what will be learned the next day.

The most important part of closing the lesson is the assignment of independent work (You Do It). Independent work may be completed in class as the lesson’s closing activity. Alternatively, independent work may be assigned as homework. The goal is to have all students ready to complete the independent work with a high level of accuracy.
