I Do, We Do, You Do: Scenario

Teacher Sandy is delivering a Connecting Math Concepts lesson. She starts by modelling a new division maths concept for students. She gets the students’ attention and shows them how to complete the division procedure. As she models, she talks through every step she completes.

Then she passes out workbooks for students to practise. She leads them through each start-end problem. Sandy talks through each problem, pausing for students to respond to questions and write in their workbooks.

When Sandy is confident that students can complete the problems on their own, she assigns them independent work. While students work independently, Sandy circulates to monitor student work and check for mastery.
