Improved Educational Outcomes
for Students
Improvements in effective teaching practice leads to better educational outcomes for students. The teaching team can master effective teaching techniques to teach students to mastery by observing delivery and the professional conversations that follow. Effective teaching optimises learning and educations outcomes for students. Students can achieve mastery, make standard progress and potentially catch up.

How it works
When the teaching team observe delivery of techniques, they can see why it is important that teachers and teaching assistants do not vary the techniques, as this results in students needing to remember what each teacher expects and how they should respond. When techniques are delivered uniformly across the school, students understand what is expected because the teaching team use the same techniques and perform them in the same manner.

By facilitating the observation of delivery of peer lessons, the instruction coach can assist the teaching team master effective teaching techniques and in turn teach students to mastery. Teachers and teaching assistants observe their peer and how they deliver effective teaching techniques and practices. Through intentional, targeted observation, they can identify what the teacher is doing well and if any refinements can be made. They are also able to observe how the teacher’s practice affects student engagement and understanding. Confident teachers, who have mastered the techniques and practices provide students with opportunities to practise skills and master content. Teachers can complete lessons in standard time.
