Observe delivery of peer lessons

Teacher Morgan has been provided with release time to observe one of her peers delivering effective teaching techniques and practices. She meets with her instruction coach, Paul who outlines the process and the focus of the observation. Paul asks Morgan to note how the teacher uses engagement techniques during the lesson, so that students can demonstrate their learning and the teacher can check for mastery. Morgan and the instruction coach observe the lesson for fifteen minutes and Morgan takes notes. After the observation Paul asks Morgan to share her observations of the teacher’s delivery and how this affected the students’ engagement and learning. He listens, elaborates on Morgan’s comments and provides verbal feedback.
