Expectations Culture
Teacher Charlotte is scheduled to shadow her instruction coach Harry to observe a peer delivering a Year 3 maths lesson. She meets with Harry, and they discuss the purpose of the observation and the process she is to follow. The students are not distracted by the presence of Charlotte or Harry, as it is a common by the presence of Charlotte observes her peer and learns how to teach the expectations and routines for using whiteboards to check for understanding. All members of the school community recognise observations as a key component of striving for continuous improvement and welcome the opportunity to learn from one another.
