The Teacher Uses Data to Make Informed Decisions to Respond to Student Learning

During an Oz-e-English class students have been assigned to work on their anchor charts independently. As teacher Claire actively monitors, she notices that students are struggling with parts of the anchor chart. She stops the class and reteaches the main parts of an anchor chart and what they should contain, giving examples from earlier in the lesson. Claire concludes reteaching and has students go back to completing their anchor chart. As Claire corrects students’ anchor charts, she notices that students benefited from the reteaching and completed their anchor charts for the most part to mastery. This allows Claire to praise her students on the work they did and assign the next part of the writing task.
