Teacher does not Track and Respond to Student Mastery

Impact

When a teacher does not administer independent work they are unable to track which students are at mastery and respond to the information in order to reteach and firm students until they are at mastery.

What Happens

The Problem is Compounded

Teachers cannot safely assume that all students are at mastery. Students are not brought to mastery daily. Students have gaps in their learning. Students do not pass mastery tests and checkouts. Students are moved on without mastering content, so the teacher needs to go back and reteach which means standard growth is not met.
