The School Team Builds a Positive High-Expectations School Culture
Positive high-expectations practice is the way in which the whole school community communicates in relation to every student’s potential and the potential of the school team and families in relation to supporting students’ education opportunities. When the team is reflecting on practice and applying evidence-based learnings, they create a culture where continuous progress is the norm.
How It Works

The teacher:
- demonstrates their commitment to mastery of effective teaching and to maximising educational outcomes for students
- creates an environment where reflecting on one’s practice and committing to continuous progress is the norm.

The instruction coach:
- establishes a culture of collaboration around continuous improvement
- demonstrates their support to maximising educational outcomes for students
- encourages an environment where reflecting on one’s practice and committing to continuous improvement is the norm
- frequently provides positive feedback to teachers about successes.

The principal:
- builds a culture of collaboration around continuous improvement
- leads an environment where reflecting on one’s practice and committing to continuous improvement is the norm
- frequently provides positive feedback to teachers about their successes.
