The School Team Shares Responsibility for Improvement
When the school team share responsibility for improvement, everyone is invested in creating effective teaching classrooms and in student outcomes. Teachers use data to identify evidence-based learnings and set improvement actions. Then teachers and coaches share those learnings to improve the broader campus, even as they embed them into their classrooms. Principals encourage the coaching processes that produce evidence-based learnings and celebrate teacher and school improvements.

How It Works
- All members of the school team work towards school improvement goals.
- Leaders feel confident to frequently provide feedback and acknowledge successes with the teaching team.
- The teaching team recognise the importance of providing student data to the leadership team.
- The principal can confidently lead, manage and review the communication between the instructional leadership and the teaching team to ensure all are working towards school improvement.
- Teaching team members are open to feedback and confidently adjust their practice to enhance their teaching.
- Teachers’ teaching is regularly improving, and they are heading towards mastery.
- An environment is created where reflecting on one’s practice and committing to continuous improvement is the norm.
