Expert Coaching is not Delivered
When the teacher is not provided with expert coaching to guide their delivery of effective teaching, they do not receive support in analysing observation or student data. They do not identify evidence-based learnings, and do not receive support in their practice to apply what they have learned.
The Problem is Compounded
- The instruction coach cannot observe the teacher delivering effective teaching.
- There is no opportunity to have a professional conversation about the teacher’s practice.
- The teacher does not get constructive feedback on what they are doing well and where they need to improve.
- The teacher does not identify evidence-based learnings.
- The teacher’s practice does not change.
