Noah and his instruction coach have targeted a high priority area that needs improvement in his teaching. It is the delivery of using specific cues during direct instruction. His instruction coach schedules him to observe an experienced teacher, Evan, who has been using Connecting Math Concepts for several years and is considered a mastery teacher. Noah sits in Evan’s classroom, but at the start of the program Evan is pulled away to resolve an issue that is unrelated to the observation. Noah does not get to observe the delivery of direct instruction.
