The School Team Engages with the Community
The school team:
- promotes improvements to the school environment to show parents and the community how the school supports their children
- creates opportunities for parents to visit classrooms (This increases parents’ commitment to being involved in improving their child’s education opportunities.)
- demonstrates positive high expectation strategies and encourages parents to reinforce them at home
- involves parents in problem solving discussions about their child’s learning
- creates opportunities for the school to engage with the community and community leaders

- promotes the community’s involvement in developing and achieving the school’s vision and improvement targets through community engagement initiatives
- empowers parents to support their child’s education
- engages parents to increase their commitment to improving students’ education opportunity
- shares examples of their child’s work to provide examples of their growth.
