A School Team Member Impacts the Ability to Achieve School Improvement Targets

School team member impacts the ability to achieve school improvement targets.

  • This enables the team member to learn the value of coaching.
  • The instruction coach provides positive feedback on what the team member is doing well and constructive feedback on where they need to improve.
  • This strengthens the team member’s confidence to objectively reflect on their practice and the impact it has on school improvement and student learning.
  • This enables the principal or instruction coaches to acknowledge and celebrate the team member’s improvement.
  • This reinforces the school’s commitment to professional learning and collaboration on improvement and motivates the teaching team to deliver effective teaching.
  • In the classroom, the teacher or teaching assistant can immediately apply newly learned skills in their classroom practice.
  • The teacher or teaching assistant can evaluate and hone their practice, so that they are always working towards mastery of effective teaching.
  • The teacher or teaching assistant then consistently uses effective teaching techniques to mastery, which leads to improved student learning and outcomes.
