Teachers do not improve their practice or teach to mastery.
The Problem is Compounded
The teaching team:
- may not be aware of how to replicate success or resolve the challenges they face and do not know what improvement actions to take
- continue with their practice unaware of how to resolve the challenges they are facing in their classroom
- are not effectively utilised to encourage experienced team members to model best practices, so improvement takes longer to take effect
- lose the ability to collaborate professionally and learn from their peers
- are not learning and adopting best teaching practice and are not improving their ability to teach students to mastery as evidenced in the data and through observations
- do not know how to improve their practice and cannot implement effective improvement actions.
