Correcting Errors Informs Teaching Decisions

Error correction is an essential part of effective teaching. Student errors must be corrected immediately to ensure students have mastered the content in each exercise of the lesson. When the teacher corrects errors, students are practising the content correctly. Ensuring students have mastered each step in the program sequence lays a solid foundation for future learning.

How It Works

Teachers are constantly listening to student answers for accuracy and correcting any errors that are made using the full correction procedure. Student errors, and how students respond to corrections, inform the teacher’s decision to go on to the next part or to repeat parts or even whole lessons.
