Students Practise Incorrect Answers

When teachers do not listen to student answers for accuracy and immediately correct any errors that are made, students are allowed to practise the content incorrectly.

The Problem is Compounded

When the full correction procedure is not used by the teacher, students do not have opportunities to hear or see the correct response modelled for them. They continue to practise incorrect answers, thinking they are correct. Without opportunities to practise correct responses their learning is not at mastery; they may lose confidence in their learning capabilities.
