Practice Direct Instruction for Special Education

Overview

Practice Direct Instruction for Special Education explores the importance the significance of following structured processes in teaching students with diverse needs, especially when using Direct Instruction programs. We will look into the impact of not following the processes, explore the barriers that impede implementation and ways to overcome these. Participants will learn how instructors can become effective in addressing the needs of pupils with special educational needs through processes that provide structure, explicitness and direction to optimise their learning. Through this module, participants will gain insight into the importance of identifying, assessing, and planning for individual learning needs, following a well-defined process that ensures consistency, collaboration and targeted support for each student.
