Teach
The teacher and support team respond to the student’s needs by following the process of Teach.
Support Kindergarten Students
Kindergarten is crucial for establishing foundation skills so early intervention avoids students being behind when starting school. The Kindergarten Teacher identifies issues, assesses, intervenes, monitors and reviews instruction for all students with concerns or disabilities.
Term 1

- The Instruction Coach collates weekly Direct Instruction data of kindergarten classes.
Term 2
- The Head of Campus and Kindergarten Director produce the Transition to School Plan.
- The Head of Campus implements Transition to School Plan.
Term 3
- The Head of Campus and Kindergarten Teacher review the Transition to School Plan at the beginning of term.
- The Instruction Coach coordinates the assessment of students and compiles Australian Early Childhood Development Census assessment results for the Head of Campus and Kindergarten Director.
Term 4
- The Head of Campus and Kindergarten Teacher review the Transition to School Plan at the beginning of term.
- The Head of Campus and advises the Head of Wellbeing of all Kindergarten students with a concern or a disability.
- The Kindergarten Director and Head of Wellbeing interview parents of each Kindergarten student with a concern or a disability to:
- provide Supporting Your Child’s Learning Needs and discuss activities that parents can do to help prepare the student for school
- share the student’s development and academic status
- advise and discuss identified or potential learning issues or disabilities
- ensure the student is receiving treatment or therapy before school starts
- identify whether an Individualised Plan will be developed by the teacher for the start of the school year.
- The Head of Campus sets up the Student Profiles for these students in the school.
Deliver Individualised Plan
Teachers deliver instruction to the whole class which includes implementing specific students’ Individualised Plan.
- The Teacher delivers instruction to students, follows the timetable set in the student’s Individualised Plan, and implements the plan with fidelity.
- The Teacher delivers the Individualised Plan during instruction, including supervising the specialist or teaching assistants who are instructing parts of the plan.
- The Teacher monitors student progress to ensure they are being instructed at the appropriate level.
- The Teacher monitors conducts testing and produces the Student Data Report.
- The Instruction Coach provides feedback on how adjustments are being implemented during classroom observations and reviews student progress data.
- The Teacher maintains Individualised Plan student data including goals and success of instructional strategies and adjustments.
