Michael Sets Learning Expectations
Michael begins his lesson by setting the tone for his students especially since there is a parent open classroom visit. He goes over the expectations of the hand signals and certain cues he will be using while doing direct instruction. He models the high expectations for his students during the lesson and their behaviour expectations. He always begins the lessons with the lesson and behaviour expectations. He also wants to show the parents that creating and implementing expectations before you begin will help with student engagement. Michael hoped the parents would take home those expectations when assisting their child in their studies.
