The school team is not engaging with the community. 

The Problem is Compounded 

The school team:  

• does not show parents or the community how the school is supporting their children  
• does not invite or create opportunities for parents to visit the classroom, which leads parents to disengaging from the improvement of their child’s education opportunities  
• does not demonstrate positive high expectations strategies or encourage parents to reinforce them at home  
• does not involve parents in problem solving discussions about their child’s learning  
• does not create opportunities for the school to engage with the community and community leaders  
• does not promote the community’s involvement in developing and achieving the school’s vision and improvement targets, which leaves the community disengaged from the school and its vision for students.
