What Happens When Distributing Student Report Cards is not Delivered with Fidelity

When a teacher does not distribute student report cards to parents with fidelity, the teacher cannot create a rapport with the parents, encourage parents to support their child in their learning, and increase student engagement and behaviour.

The Problem is Compounded

  • The team members do not show parents how to support their children.
  • The team members do not create opportunities for parents to be involved.
  • The team members do not hold parents and students to high expectations. In return, parents do not hold their children to high expectations in their learning.
  • Educational outcomes do not improve.
  • The teacher does not celebrate successes of students and parents.
  • The teacher does not motivate students to succeed.
