A Culture of Continuous Improvement and Communication is Promoted
Continuous Improvement is a school-wide goal. Students and parents are encouraged to adopt this mindset through individual behaviour plans. Behaviour plans teach students to set goals and work towards achieving them and help parents to celebrate their child’s progress. Teachers and other school professionals work collaboratively towards the common goal of improving student behaviour.
Teacher:

- enlists the help of the teacher’s assistant, behaviour coach, principal, and parents to develop a plan for the student
- encourages student to improve their behaviour and communicates the positive outcomes
- regularly communicates progress with the team
- uses positive, action-based language to communicate with student.
Student:
- is inspired to improve their behaviour
- understands the positive and negative impacts of their choices
- is provided with clear and direct instructions on how to improve
- is inspired to set and achieve goals
- gains more self confidence.
