Use Engagement Techniques

Teacher Paul is teaching an English class. Students have finished one activity and about to start the next. Paul holds his hand up in the air as a visual cue and uses an attention signal to ensure that all students are sitting down, facing the front, looking at him and read to learn. He uses a call response attention signal by saying ‘One, two.’ Students respond, ‘Eyes on you’. With all students now focused, he then continues to instruct the class.
