Students Unable to Show Learning and Gain Confidence
Teacher Simone is teaching a biology lesson. She makes the decision to skip pair-share activities. The students do not have an opportunity to successfully formulate their thoughts, verbalise and practise their answers with a peer. When she selects non-volunteers to answer questions based on her instruction, students lack confidence in their answer and responses are undeveloped or incorrect. Simone’s students are not confident that they have understood the lesson content or that they possess the skills required to complete the work.
