Practice Techniques and Practices
Teachers are responsible for actively supervising and monitoring students, for reinforcing appropriate behaviour, and for addressing inappropriate behaviours. School team members support each other’s skills development. When less experienced team members are learning these skills, more experienced teachers provide opportunities for observation and support.
A less experienced team member:
- is paired with a more experienced team member to manage student behaviour
- seeks support and guidance in managing student behaviour from a more experienced team member
- understands the purpose and structure of the practice used
- is familiar with the practices so embeds the practice with confidence and fidelity.
