Scenario: Practice Techniques and Practices

Step 2: Kate invites Chantelle to visit her classroom to observe how she addresses student behaviour. Chantelle sees how Kate is constantly monitoring her students, aware of what they are doing. She sees Kate recognise and acknowledge students’ appropriate behaviour and how the students respond positively to her.

Step 4: Chantelle more consistently uses these same strategies with her own students, continuing to have conversations and get feedback from Kate, and improving her skills in managing student behaviour.

Step 3: Chantelle also sees the way Kate responds to inappropriate behaviour immediately, using redirection and proximity to get students’ attention and refocus them on their learning.
