What Happens When Holding Weekly Lesson Practice is not Delivered with Fidelity
When the instruction coach does not hold weekly lesson practice with fidelity, the teaching team do not observe, practise and implement new techniques and practices into their classroom.
The Problem is Compounded
- Instruction coach does not answer questions to assist practice needs of each teacher and teaching assistant.
- Instruction coach does not know what techniques to observe for each teacher and teaching assistant in their next effective teaching observation so they can see how they delivered what they practised.
- Teachers do not observe a peer teaching techniques and practices.
- Teachers do not practise techniques and practices.
- Teachers do not improve techniques and practices.
- Teachers do not receive feedback on teaching or have an improvement plan.
- Student learning and behaviour outcomes do not improve.
