Start the Year Strong to Entrench Values, Rules and Routines
The school dedicates the first week of the school year to an intensive positive high-expectations calendar of activity, focused on the how, when and where of values, rules and routines. This gets the school team, parents and students on the same page with the expectations.
The principal:
- develops and supports the school’s vision, mission, practices, programming, routines and expectations.
- ensures all team deliver activities in PHE Week Intensive Plan
- leads the school team in special training
- allocates times and locations for the teaching team’s participation in activities
- does twice daily classroom and school walk-arounds to ensure all teachers are delivering required activities with fidelity and provides feedback
- reinforces to all team members about positive high-expectations improvement.
