Scenario: Does Not Encourage Professional Development in Positive High-Expectations
Bernard October 11, 2024

Scenario: Does Not Encourage Professional Development in Positive High-Expectations
Step 1: Principal, Rhiannon, did not complete the positive high-expectations professional development for leaders. She did not think it was worth her time.
Step 2: Rhiannon tries to enact values, rules and routines in her school, but she is lacking the knowledge and skills needed for a successful implementation. She does not arrange for teachers to receive related professional development either, so the team members do not have the same expectations or understanding.
Step 3: Teachers do what they can, but, without a shared understanding, implementation of any rules and routines is inconsistent.
Step 4: Without consistent rules and routines, students do not know what to expect from one classroom to the next. As a result, inappropriate student behaviour increases.
