The Principal Contributes to Building a High Expectations School Culture
When the principal contributes to building a high expectations school culture, they:
- create, promote, and participate in a school environment with a strong school vision, values and expected behaviours
- participate in coaching or training to promote a positive high-expectations school environment that aligns with the vision, values and expectations of the school and community
- have high expectations for students regarding their engagement and learning

- model positive high expectations for the school team, peers, parents and students
- build a culture of collaboration around continuous improvement
- collaborate with parents and the community on shared school improvement goals
- demonstrate their support for maximising educational outcomes for students
- invite parents, teachers and leaders to have conversations around ways to increase opportunities for improvement
- lead an environment where reflecting on one’s practice and committing to continuous improvement is the norm.
