The School Team Members Feel Unsupported and May Lack Confidence
When the principal does not manage professional learning, their team members feel unsupported and lack confidence in their teaching techniques and practices.
The Problem is Compounded
- Team members’ successes are not recognised or celebrated.
- Coaching and supports needed to problem solve and overcome challenges faced are not provided.
- Feedback and improvement actions are not provided, so the team member does not know what they can do to improve.
- When team members continue to experience the same challenges or see little improvement, they lose confidence in their ability to improve.
- Team members feel like they are alone and have no one to support, guide or mentor them.
- Team members lose confidence in their ability to improve the outcomes for the school or students.
