Use Modelling Techniques

Teacher Tyler is delivering a biology lesson to his students. There are new vocabulary words in the text they will be reading. Tyler does not think his students know what these words mean. Tyler points to the word projected on the whiteboard and pronounces the word clearly. The students repeat the word with him. Then they repeat it without him. Tyler provides students with a simple definition of the word. The students turn to their partner and give a definition of the word. Tyler repeats the process for each of the new or unfamiliar words.
