A Teacher Works in Isolation
Teacher, Scott, is a very dedicated teacher who is always well prepared for his lessons. He prefers to work by himself and does not like sharing at meetings. He has completed all the training in classroom routines and expectations and has been implementing these in his lessons.
Scott has observed a colleague’s class and has given feedback to them regarding their implementation of the strategies. Instruction Coach, Cathy, has been asking Scott to set up a time for her to visit his classroom to give him feedback, but Scott is stalling and is very reluctant to invite her in for an assessment.

Although Scott is an effective teacher, he is missing key opportunities to work with a team and learn how to improve his practice and implementation of Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Constantly reflecting on his implementation strategies and trying to improve every time with help Scott improve. Without constructive feedback, he may be unable to notice some areas for potential growth in his lessons.
