Maintain Accurate Records and Prepare Data
In addition to being observant, teachers participating on the PHET must also keep accurate and organised records on the data they have collected. This data will be instrumental when presenting findings to the team and will be used to support any input or suggestions provided.
To maintain accurate records and prepare data for the PHET meeting, the teacher:
- conducts student observations using the Student Observation Form
- uses formative assessments, anecdotal notes, to gauge how their students learn, behave, interact with others, and respond to new or challenging situations
- ensures notes are organised, dated, detailed, and written clearly so that others can comprehend their meaning
- maintains confidentiality by storing notes in a safe, secure place
- highlights any areas in their notes with the coach that should be brought up at the PHET meeting.
