Scenario: The Impact of Maintaining Accurate Records and Preparing Data

Step 2: Nick begins taking down daily anecdotal notes on this students behaviour whenever he notices the issue occurring. He also uses the Student Observation Form to conduct a formal observation of the student to see if there are any other concerning behaviours that could be contributing to the problem.

Step 4: Since Nick was well-organised and had been collecting data for a period before the meeting, he has a substantial amount of evidence to prove that this student would benefit from an intervention. The team agrees and an intervention plan is put into place for the student.

Step 3: Nick also reviews assessment data and work samples from the student to verify the informal, anecdotal data. He shares this data with the coach and the issue is added to the PHET weekly meeting agenda.
