Students Are Unable to Achieve Mastery
Teacher Justin is teaching a physics lesson. When it comes to the point in the lesson where students need to write in their workbooks, Justin discovers that not all students have their books. Time is lost while students attempt to locate the missing books. He then asks students to look on with a partner and to write their answers on a piece of paper. Justin resumes teaching the lesson. Justin shortens the time allocated to pair-share and skips the use of whiteboards to complete the lesson. When he checks for understanding at the end of the lesson, he finds that not all students are firm.
