The Teacher Does Not Invite Parents in Conversations

Teacher, Bill, has implemented the BMP in his Year 6 classroom. He has been collecting data daily and has tracked it in the system-wide system. One of his goals this year was to communicate more regularly with parents to include them in conversations about their child’s learning progress. He began the year by contacting two parents a day to share details on learning and giving some tips on how parents can support their children. However, as the semester progressed, Bill became very busy with after-school duties as well as keeping up with the daily teaching tasks. He has not been able to continue with his original goal of communicating improvement opportunities with parents. Bill is disappointed and feels he has missed opportunities to support learners in developing to the best of their abilities.
